The Princely State of chitlav, also known as chitlav, was one of the native States that existed during the reign of the British empire in india.during the early 19 th century, the region was appointed as one of the princely states of India under the indirect rule of the British
Administration. The region was scattered over a total area 16 square miles and comprised of a total population 1473 ચાર in the year 1941.the princely state of chitlav was one of the twenty six states that formed up the chandasar lat in the former mahikath agency. The erstwhile princely state was a sud division of western India state agency. Later the region became a part of the state of Gujarat

The sodha rajput were the ruling family of chitlav.The sodha ruling family claims that they are descendants of the title of Thakur. The Princely State was one of the chandasar lat region the state had several subsidiaries such as bhadhrasa, nes,aklacha, kalsar,dhunadhra, rakhiyal,manjipura ,umba ,padvaniya, succession in chitlav State was governed by the rule of primogeniture , which refers to the law of the right of the first bron child, property of one or both parents
The Princely State of chitlav was located north shihora state by baroda state in the sauth the princely state of chitlav was a jurisdictionary state of the 6 th class, before classes were eradicated in the year 1928. The state paid annual tribute to the baroda agency.
According to the attachment scheme of 1943, the state of chitlav was attached to princely state of baroda.
After the independence of the India and the withdrawal of the British government on 15th August 1947, the netive ruler accessed his state to the newly formed union of India, also known as the dominion of india.presently , chitlav is a municipality and a town in the district of kheda in gujrat state, india
